South Africa’s a busy place, and we know you’ve got a lot on your mind every day. That’s why, we’ve taken one thing off your ‘to do’ list – we’ve enhanced Taxify’s safety features to give you extra peace of mind when you’re on route with a driver hailed via the Taxify app.
Earlier this year, we partnered with Namola to bring safety at your fingertips, and we’ve made it part of the drivers’ app too. The SOS button for Drivers and Namola App for riders makes it quick and easy to call for emergency assistance anywhere in South Africa – day and night, whenever you need it.
In September, we introduced phone masking. This feature protects the privacy of drivers and riders by masking their cell phone numbers in the app. However, you can still communicate with your driver through the app and through the unique number if you want to tell them where you are or track down lost property. The unique number will be valid for 24 hours after your trip before being disabled.
This month, we’re introducing a small booking fee of 4% of final trip fare in South Africa. This fee helps us to invest even more into safety for both passengers and drivers.
We’re building the future of urban transport and we are devoted to bringing you a safe, reliable and affordable on-demand service, while continuing to change the way people move around in cities across South Africa.
