Recent driver/rider incidents in South Africa

Given the recent wave of alleged attacks on riders on competitor platforms, Taxify would like to issue an official statement that we were in no way involved in these attacks nor encouraged any of these terrible acts to take place.

Our main motivator for entering the African market is to ensure that we provide the best quality, safety and service standards for our riders and drivers. It is therefore why we have strict requirements for the drivers and vehicles on our platform.

All our drivers are pre-screened and all of them have a professional driving permit that certifies them to carry passengers. All the vehicles go through a strict 45-point inspection procedure and have R5 million passenger liability insurance.

We have had no reported incidents on the Taxify platform so far and we strive to put even more measures in place to ensure that we keep it that way because your safety is always our biggest concern.
